Are we ready for it ???

Believe it or not - We’ll soon be able to watch the adult content on TV, yes you read it correctly, I’m also talking about viewing Adult Content (including A or U/A rated stuff) on our own TVs’ but only from 11 p.m. in the night to 5 a.m. in the morning. Government is planning to bring a Broadcast Bill in the winter session, after which TV channels will be allowed to show the adult stuff between the specific timings.

It may be a good news for some while others may be worried that what effect will it leave on our children? In the land of Kama Sutra, the debate over the topic had already begun. Don’t be surprised to see activists opposing this bill, when we can oppose sex education in schools then how can we allow this? People might argue that it will have a bad effect on our children, but I just want to ask them that is this only medium where adult content will be available? How are they planning to stop the children from watching Porn Videos, MMSs’, accessing Internets or reading adult stuffs?

Anyways there is still enough time left and lots of drama to be seen, before Government finalizes this bill and we see the outcome of it.

Click here to read The Economic Times report.

And please don't forget to tell me that are you in favor of this bill or you'll oppose it? But the question, for which I'm unable to find an answer is that, Are we ready for it ???

Well a society is never ready to accept any change at once...a change always takes some time to get used to it and its applicable in all the circumstances. Sooner or later people will get used to this being a part of their lives and well yes there will be a lot of hue and cry raised over it but if the government is adamant over it being passed, then it will get passed definetely like the reservation bill.
Well in countries like US it is not that the adult content was being telecast right from the time of inception of televiosn and cinema, even the actors were not ready at that time to shoot this!!!
So with the passage of time we also wil get used to all this, but will this change be for good or bad only time will tell!!!

What?? How strange is this? The other day I read how the GoI was raising a ban on the international channel FTv because of it was 'against the Indian culture' and aired too much of 'nudity'.

Alas..the hyppocrisy is proven with facts...!

If I were to decide whether such a bill should be passed or not, I would not pass it on the basis of yes 'promoting nudity and pornography' and with a feminist view, I would reject it to help maintain the respect for women (which is sadly not so high). Well...we all know that there are MMSs, Internet, porn movies, etc. for the 'non adults' to view 'adult' stuff, then why give them six hours daily to view something like this and promote it.

I am not of the view that pornoghraphy is immoral because of sex and nudity. Porn is as normal as sex, and, men and women viewing it is no big deal!! But deriving pleasure out of such viewing I am personally against for the simple reason that it goes against the dignity and respect of two indiviuals, be it a man or a woman. But a deep introspection will give a simple answer, curiosity! Some may kill their curiosity and some may let it linger...solution... yeah people...it is 'Proper Sex Education'. Did anybody read hyppocrisy again??

It is not that there is not enough nudity now in everyhting that is there..Doing it is not the only thing in life. Any change that occurs has a good and bad aspect to it. So when it comes, our attempts should be in the direction to reap the best out of it. Also, doing IT (read it correctly) is not the only thing in life. there are way too many aspects to life just than seeing IT or doing IT. Must I add, the values are all down the drain, and atleast if not save yourself if not your values.

man we aint ready for anythin. Moral policing had never been the road to salvation and will never be. And this ime slotting, i m nt sure hw effective it can be.
A free and responsible media is wat is needed and putting restrictions on wat is being aired...hardly helps. If adult content is wat they are losing their sleep on, is the issue, wat abt the www2 and the other freely available FUN content on net. No cyber laws to SAVE (as claimed) but restrictions on TV.
The truth is the politicians (one of the many must hv seen his/her kid wid it and could thot of no other means but to impose the restrictions the only way they know.
With decsion makin so mundane and short sighted at top... we aint ready for anything dude. we aint and we wont.
